Automatically delete an inactive user
KolleK offers an opt in setting that deletes your user automatically after a long stretch of inactivity, roughly six months. It exists for people who would rather not leave a dormant login sitting on a server they may never return to.
How it works
- The setting is off unless you turn it on, and it applies only to you. Nobody can opt in on your behalf, and your choice affects no other member of the account.
- Once enabled, a daily check looks at when you were last active. If more than about six months have passed, your user is deleted, the same as if you had deleted it yourself.
- Any activity resets the clock. Signing in is enough.
Turn it on or off
Find the option in your profile's security settings, choose yes or no, and save. You can change your mind at any time before the deletion happens.
If the inactivity deletion triggers, your user is permanently removed and your login stops working, without a further warning email. Only enable this if you genuinely want a dormant login to disappear on its own.
Is it right for you
Turn it on if you are trying KolleK out, or privacy minded enough that an abandoned login bothers you. Leave it off if this catalogue is a long term archive you may not touch for a year and still want waiting for you. Collections are patient things; an eight month gap between cataloguing sessions is normal in this hobby.
